It is a guide to help you to prepare well what you need, and how to structure a collaboration request that makes sense for your potential collaborator.
Where and when to use the Collaboration Plan Canvas
At the beginning of the year or when you do the budget for the next annual financial year are the best moments to review your issues, and plan a budget to solve them with innovative solutions in collaboration with researchers, startups or other innovative businesses. The Collaboration Plan canvas, you can use it as a guideline with your existing partners to plan more collaborations together that year. Or you can just use it by yourself to plan your annual collaborations with different partners.
You can use the Collaboration Plan canvas together with the Collaboration canvas to go deeper into the details of each collaboration.
How to use the Collaboration Plan Canvas
First, we recommend working on the analysis of your team and organization needs, challenges, processes improvements, or customer feedback. This analysis will provide you with a list of issues, and then you have to make a list of issues which are priorities to solve for you during a year. It depends on your capacity and how you can solve those issues. In this case, we are talking about solving them with innovative solutions from startups or research, so you can make a list of 3-4 issues at least.
What does it mean? This list of 3 issues for instance, each of them or a combination of them will be the starting point for a collaboration concept, so there you could have 3 concepts. Those concepts you can add into the Collaboration Plan canvas, and start searching for the right partner or partners that can solve and provide solutions for your prioritized issues.
