The Humboldt University of Berlin is intensifying their research spectrum in specific areas, in co-working with its partners with expertise in science and research. While intensifying the spectrum, the university expands the range of teaching programs for junior scientists.
ABOUT THE COLLABORATION
This collaboration is focused on Application-oriented research. This type of research is a big source of inspiration for the business, regarding politics, business and administration area. Moreover, the university promotes the relevance of research through promoting cooperation and the benefits of business and university gain from coworking with each other. Humboldt Innovation GmbH facilitates as an interface between science and industry, including the public sector.
In behalf of the University, Humboldt-Innovation GmbH also promotes and administers cooperation projects with partners from the private sector. This includes things, such as research contracts, the development of agreements or contact for scientific services.

ABOUT THE OUTCOME
In various projects of all types, scientists from the Humboldt University have worked together with external partners. Two of them are listed below:
Accor Hospitality Germany GmbH
Together with the Department of Psychological Diagnostics at the Humboldt University of Berlin (headed by Prof. Matthias Ziegler), the Accor Hospitality Germany GmbH carried out multiple research project. Such as project about optimization of human resource management tools. Another project included the development of competencies for several job profiles in the hospitality branches. Hewlett-Packard Development Company, LP
In 2009 and 2010, the university was given an award by the HP Innovation Research. This was the start of cooperation about Information Management(Malu Castellanos, PhD) at the HP lab. The collaboration included the Chair of Databases and Information systems from Humboldt University ((Head of Prof. JC Freytag, PhD) and the HP Research group ((Malu Castellanos, PhD). The coworking quickly developed to a big amount of fruitful exchange of research ideas, research stays regarding the streaming system in order to analyze and process data in real-time. ABOUT THE RESEARCH
The Joint Laboratory for Structural Research (JLSR) provides crucial infrastructure regarding research topics into organic, inorganic or resulting hybrid materials and systems.
The focus of this research lays in microscopy methods. By using electrons, X-rays and scanning probes. The JLSR is an institution in which the Humboldt University Berlin cooperates with the Helmholtz Center Berlin for Materials and Energy and the TU Berlin.
